When I wrote about Rolife Coaster's blogiversary yesterday, I realized I had never once congratulated this blog on its annual milestone. For that, I deeply apologize. I don't mean to neglect you, blog, but you used to be where I stored my deepest, darkest thoughts, all dressed in floral clothing. It never occurred to me to celebrate another year of melancholic gloom.
Now that serenity has taken over, this blog has embraced a much lighter tone. For that, I want to thank you, blog, for being an honest friend when I needed it the most. It's been five years of writing, reflecting, and reading (even though I've neglected that lately). I still can't believe how far I've come with all of this...
In the spirit of reminiscing, here are some of my favorite posts to look back on together:
- When I showed my blog for the first time to my sister and she told me to keep writing: Escapism, Presumption, and Conclusion
- I've written quite a few travelogues, but this one will always be one of my favorites: A Singapore Personalized Token: A Grown-Up Christmas List and Meeting a Perfect Stranger
- One of the hardest pieces to start writing, but easiest to finish: I Dyed My Hair Brown
- When I felt like everything was cruel and unforgiving: The Tale of the Trapped
- A goodbye that had me crying for hours: I Hate Farewells More Than Anything Else
- A Christmas to remember: A Monumental Christmas: In Battling Depression, Seeking God, and All Its Massive Repercussions
- Learning my (new) way: Metaphorically Written While Literally Pissed
- My muse knew this was about him: When a Bold Stranger Met My Quirks
- A short post about a science-like anecdote: Resisting Physics, Embracing Truths
- Winter and metaphors: A Whimsical December Reverie
Here’s to a more loquacious journey of writing, reflecting, and (hopefully) reading. I’m so glad to have opened up to all of you here.
Much love,
Karina
